HACC Hawks Start Week with Two Wins

Harrisburg, PA –  The HACC Hawks Esports Call of Duty Vanguard and Rocket League teams both battled in the cyber arena, Monday evening. The Call of Duty Vanguard team took on the South West Tech Chargers, while the Hawks Rocket league team played a double feture against the Nighthawks of Northern Virginia Community College and Catawba Valley Red Hawks. The Hawks Call of Duty:Vanguard team captured the win 3-0, while the Rocket League team split with a loss against NOVA Nighthawks and a win against Catawba Valley.

 

CoD Vanguard

The first map was played in "hard point" where the HACC Hawks demonstrated some fast breaks and good rotation securing the first game. The second map, Hawks player, Trent Berkheiser, had his first debut and was able to secure a victory in the second map. The third game, Trent held strong positioning as the Vanguard team secured the last victory of the series, ending the match 3-0.

 

Rocket League

The Hawks Rocket League team had a double feature as the team took on their first opponents for Week 8 of the regular season, the Northern Virginia Nighthawks. The second match was against the Catawba Valley Red Hawks, who hold the same 4-1 overall record as the HACC Hawks. Both matches would be a battle to the finish. 

The Nighthawks came into the match with the undefeated record. The Nighthawks scored early and often in the first game, taking the lead from the Hawks. The Nighthawks capitalized offensively with quick movement and a few crucial aerial plays, capturing the win in game one. In the second game, NOVA Nighthawks continued to dominate in the arena. The HACC Hawks trailed behind and were no match for NOVA's speed. The NOVA Nighthawks secured the win in game two. The third and final game, the HACC Hawks continued their valiant effort, but the NOVA Nighthawks did not let up, winning the final game, ending the series 3-0. 

The Hawks Rocket League team looked to bounce back after suffering a tough loss against the NOVA Nighthawks. The first game against Catawba Valley, team captain Benjamin "Finalben7" Kauffman scored several quick goals and lead a victory for game one. The Hawks came out firing on all cylinders in game two, which was quite an even match. The second game was a tough battle as both teams were neck in neck and almost went into overtime play. However, Benjamin "Finalben7" Kauffman stepped up and finished with two quick goals, capturing the lead and victory for the Hawks in game two. The third game, the HACC Hawks demonstrated a lot of energy as they closed the series with a 3-0 win against the Catawba Red Hawks.

 

Up next for the Hawks, the Call of Duty: Vanguard team will face the Catawba Valley Red Hawks on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. The match is set to start at 7 p.m.
