Hawks Snag First Win at Home

Harrisburg, PA –  The HACC Hawks men's basketball team pulled at 77-75 win over Delaware County Community College at home on Tuesday night.

The Hawks had three players score in the double figures. Leading the pack was Christian Bingaman with a game high of 25 points. Keith Davis followed capturing 23 game points. Anthony Alviani was a power house for the Hawks, and rallied a season high of 20 points.

After suffering a tough defeat against Northampton, the team bounced back with a win against the Phantoms. The Hawks scored early and took the lead the first half, but the visiting Phantoms kept it close. Both teams continued to battle to stay on top, as there were several lead changes and tied scores within the first 10 minutes. Keith Davis tied the game 31-31, shooting one for two at the free throw line at minute 3:56. However, the Phantoms responded with a late push capturing the lead, 42-35 going into the break.

Free throws were crucial in the second half. The Hawks shot 77.8% at the line, while the Phantoms were just shy, shooting at 71.4% the second half. Anthony Alviani brought the heat as the second half neared the end. He rallied 17 points for the Hawks, giving the team the push to pull away for the 77-75 victory.

 

The Hawks hit the road on Saturday, January 29, 2022 to take on the Community College of Philadelphia. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.  The Hawks women's basketball team will tip off at 12 noon against the Lions.
