Explosive First Half Leads Hawks Men’s Basketball Past Centurions

Harrisburg, PA –  The HACC Hawks men's basketball team faced the Centurions of Bucks County Community College Saturday morning. The Hawks forged ahead of the Centurions for a 79-75 victory, improving their overall record to 3-6. This would be the third win at home for the HACC Hawks.

The Hawks had an explosive first half capturing the lead early against the Centurions; 45-35. The Hawks owned the stat sheet as a team, gaining the advantage acrossed the board. The Centurions struggled to find their rhythm as they trailed behind the Hawks at the break. Going into the second half the Centurions brought the heat as they came out hot from beyond the 3-point arc, helping them close the gap. The game came down to the free throw line as it became a two-point lead with four minutes remaining. The Hawks capitalized and as they shot 71.4% from the charity stripe. The Centurions put up a tough battle, but the Hawks cruised through to the end, taking the victory 79-75.

The Hawks had four players score in double figures. Leading the pack was Keith Davis, with a triple-double capturing 24 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists. Christian Bingaman rallied 18 points for the Hawks with five assists and four steals. Anthony Alviani collected 16 points, with four rebounds and six assists. Matthew Fravel earned a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

The Hawks hit the road to face Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
