Hawks Fall Short in 114-76 Loss to Bulldogs

Harrisburg, PA –  The HACC Hawks men's basketball team faced the Bulldogs of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology Tuesday night, in a tough match-up. The HACC Hawks ran out of time, falling to the Bulldogs; 114-76.

Both teams came out strong the first half battling to take the lead. The Hawks brought the intensity, setting the tone for the start of the game. Both teams worked to gain an advantage over each other as the score remained close. However, the Bulldogs began to pull away as they worked the inside, shooting an FGM percentage of 51.7%. The Hawks started to tail behind shooting an FGM percentage of 46.5%. The lead was captured by the Bulldogs at the break, 42-34. At the start of the second, the Hawks changed momentum and with a team effort worked to close the gap. The Hawks fired on all cylinders shooting a 30.0% from the three-point line while the Mustangs shot 32.1%. The game was evenly matched and in the second half free throws became crucial. The Hawks shot 50.0% from the charity stripe while the Bulldogs shot 60%. The Bulldogs were able to capitalize offensively and take the lead 72-42 and continued to hold the lead to the finish. The Bulldogs took the victory, ending the match 114-76.

Top scorers for the Hawks were Anthony Alviani with 21 points and six rebounds and Matthew Fravel tallying 16 points, five rebounds and five assists. Following was Kevin Perales capturing 11 points, seven rebounds and eight assists.

The Hawks will face Salem Community College on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023 in the Evans Center Gymnasium. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
