Hawks Fall Short in 64-72 Loss to Roadrunners

Harrisburg, PA – The HACC Hawks men's basketball team faced the Roadrunners of Rowman College South Jersey- Gloucester Saturday afternoon, in a tough match-up. The HACC Hawks ran out of time, falling to the Roadrunners 64-72.

Both teams came out strong the first half battling to take the lead. The Hawks brought the intensity, setting the tone for the game working to gain an advantage over the Roadrunners. However, the Roadrunners worked the inside, shooting an FGM percentage of 42.4% while the Hawks shot a FGM percentage of 44.9%. The lead was captured by the Roadrunners at the break, 34-27. At the start of the second, the Hawks changed momentum and with a team effort worked to capture the lead. The Hawks fired on all cylinders shooting a 31.6% from the three-point line while the Roadrunners shot 28.6%. The game was evenly matched and in the second half free throws became crucial. The Hawks shot 87.5% from the charity stripe in hopes to close the gap, but the Roadrunners were able to capitalize offensively and narrowly take the lead 38-37 and continued to hold the lead to the finish. The Roadrunners took the victory, ending the match 72-64.

The Hawks lead scorers were Jaiden Baltimore with a team high of 31 points with five rebounds and Trey Slayton with 11 points. Vincent Fonticoba followed, capturing 9 points with 11 rebounds.
