Hawks Fall Short in 83-55 Loss to Spartans

Harrisburg, PA – The HACC Hawks men's basketball team faced the Spartans of Northampton Community College Thursday night, in a tough match-up. The HACC Hawks ran out of time, falling to the Spartans; 83-55.

Both teams came out strong the first half battling to take the lead. The Hawks brought the intensity, setting the tone for the game working to gain an advantage over the Spartans. However, the Trailblazers worked the inside, shooting an FGM percentage of 40.0% while the Hawks trailed behind shooting an FGM percentage of 24.6%. The lead was captured by the Spartans at the break, 41-24. At the start of the second, the Hawks changed momentum and with a team effort worked to close the gap. The Hawks fired on all cylinders shooting a 26.5% from the three-point line while the Spartans shot 15.0%. The game was evenly matched and in the second half free throws became crucial. The Hawks shot 72.7% from the charity stripe in hopes to close the gap, but the Spartans were able to capitalize offensively and take the lead 41-31 and continued to hold the lead to the finish. The Spartans took the victory, ending the match 83-55.

Leading the pack for the Hawks was Trey Slayton with a game high of 19 points with four rebounds. Jaiden Baltimore followed, capturing 17 points with three assists. Isaiah Bostic and Vincent Fonticoba both added six points to the board.
