Hawks Unable to Rally Against Mustangs

Harrisburg, PA –  The HACC Hawks men's basketball team lost to Montgomery County Community College, 51-88, in an exciting season opener.

Both teams came out firing on all cylinders, but the Hawks began to trail, as the Mustangs took the lead, in the first half. The Hawks would find themselves down, 26-52, at the break. The Hawks struggled to score at the start of the second half, as the Mustangs held the Hawks at 26 points on the board. The Hawks began to battle back with a late push to bring the score to 51-88, closing the gap. However, it was not enough as the Hawks fell to the Mustangs Saturday afternoon.

Anthony Alviani and Phoenix Gruver were two powerhouses for the Hawks offense. Gruver lead the team with a double-double recording 18 points and 11 rebounds. Alviani added 12 points to the board with two rebounds and one steal. Matthew Fravel scored an efficient 11 points with eight rebounds and one steal.

The Hawks will hit the road on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 to take on Lehigh Carbon Community College. Tip- off is set for 7 p.m.
