Harrisburg, PA – The Hawks Women's Volleyball team start the Fall 2022 season strong, capturing two wins in the Tri-Match at Raritan Valley. On Saturday, the Hawks swept both Queensborough Community College and Raritan Valley Community College; 3-0.
Match 1: HACC 3, Queensborough CC 0 - Final
The Hawks dominated the first set of the match, cruising to a 25-16 victory over the Tigers. The second set the Tigers battled back closing the gap, but HACC prevailed with a 25-19 win. The third set HACC took control, dominating the court leading to a 25-13 win.
Mackenzie Maass led the squad with 12 kills, while Taylor Beeler added 9 kills. Sydnee Wishard was active with 28 digs. Ashley NyeSmith added 18 digs and Taylor Beeler 13. Kyla Kolivoski recorded 38 assists.
Match 2: HACC 3, Raritan Valley CC 0 - Final
The second matchup for the Hawks was against the Raritan Valley Lions. The HACC Hawks battled to the end and narrowly took the first set 25-22. The second set the Hawks took care of business finishing with a 25-20 win over the Lions. The third set the Hawks continued their momentum capturing the win, 25-13, for a 3-0 sweep.
Mackenzie Maass had a team high of 11 kills to pair with her four solo blocks. Kyla Kolivoski led the team with 42 assists. Ashley NyeSmith recorded a match-best 30 digs in the win. Sydnee Wishard followed, recording 13 digs.
The Hawks Women's Volleyball team will travel to Northampton Community College on September 8, 2022 to take on the Spartans. The match is set to start at 7 p.m.
