Hawks Women’s Volleyball Advances to Region 19 Championship

Harrisburg, PA – The fifth seeded Hawks Women's Volleyball team faced fourth seed Northampton Community College on Wednesday night in the first round of the NJCAA Region 19 Playoffs. The team cruised past the Spartans with a 3-1 victory. This was a huge upset as the Spartans are a 2-time defending champion.

 

The winners of the East District A and East District B brackets will advance to the NJCAA National Tournament in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

 

Match 1: HACC 3, Northampton 1 - Final

 

The Hawks dominated against the Spartans, taking the lead early and often. The Hawks finished with a convincing win against Northampton Community College; 3-1. Zoe Velez led the squad with 16 kills, while Peyton Maass followed with 11 Kills and 1 Service Aces. Lezlie Nguyen was active with 15 Digs and 1 Services Aces. Emily Myers led the team in serve aces with 4 total. Camryn Heth recorded 38 Assists and 4 Digs. 


 

 

The Hawks will now advance to the Region 19/ East District A Championship. The team will face #1 seed Bergen Community College at 12 noon at the Arthur L. Scott Center on the Northampton Campus.
