Tom Frye was named head coach of the HACC Hawks Women’s Volleyball program in 2015 and also serves at the Director of Facilities at both the York and Gettysburg campuses.

Frye comes to HACC after a successful coaching career at West Shore YMCA and Sport City. Frye spent two years coaching boys’ volleyball at Sport City ’93 and ’94 and one-year coaching boys’ volleyball at West Shore YMCA. In his 14 years with the West Shore YMCA he coached the girls’ volleyball team and was named the Assistant Club Director which he held for three years. Frye also coached one year at the York Towne Volleyball Club. In addition, Frye coached the girls’ volleyball team at Red Land High School for five years, two of which he led the team as Head Coach.

Tome Frye has been the recipient of EPAC Coach of the Year in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021. In 2018 Tom Frye was named NJCAA Coach of the Year Division III District L. In 2019 and 2022 he was named NJCAA Coach of the Year Division III North Atlantic A District.

Under Frye’s leadership the Hawks have had nine NJCAA Region 19 Tournament appearances and have reached the Final Four play on 5 occasions. The Women’s Volleyball program has earned EPAC Conference Champions in 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022.

The Hawks have recorded 22 players voted to All EPAC or All Region 19 Teams. Seven  players have been voted to Region 19 All-Tournament Team. Two players have been voted to Region 19 Final Four MVP’s in 2018 and 2019 for the Hawks. In 2019 and 2023 he coached an EPAC and Region 19 Player of the Year selection. He has had 2 players voted All-American in 2019 and 2022.

Frye graduated from Altoona School of Commerce with an Associate Degree in Business, Administration and Management. Frye enjoys spending time with his family and in his free time teeing off at the golf course!
