Class of 2014

Amanda Flynn

Amanda Flynn played for HACC's women's volleyball team in the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 seasons. Flynn was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) for both seasons. Her coach, Mark Spoonhour, credits her with leading the team to two regular season titles and Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference (EPCC) tournament championships. He also credits her for the team's Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association (PCAA) runner-up finishes. The team was 11-1 in the EPCC for both seasons.

Coach Spoonhour said Flynn was a natural leader who made the players around her better. Flynn made HACC's Dean's List in 2007-2008.

She transferred to Penn State Harrisburg, graduating with her Bachelor's Degree in 2010. She also excelled on the volleyball court at Penn State Harrisburg. Penn State Harrisburg named her MVP for the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 seasons.  

 

Glen Lum

Glen Lum has been a significant part of HACC Athletics since its formation in 2001. He has volunteered to work the scorer's table for both the men's and women's home basketball games.

He keeps the official scorebook and tracks individual statistics for both the men's and women's players. He provides the basketball coaches with real-time stats for each game.

In addition, Lum volunteered to drive the bus that carried the women's basketball team to away games. His help has been invaluable to the coaches and Athletics and Recreation staff.

Lum worked at HACC for 27 years as Director of Institutional Research Office. He served as a weekend counselor for 24 years with HACC. Before coming to HACC, he was a Peace Corps volunteer in Sierra Leone, West Africa. He taught high school math.

While at HACC, Lum volunteered extensively. His volunteer work included HACC graduations for 11 years, HACC college fairs for 12 years and HACC phonathons for 16 years. He managed and promoted the annual faculty/staff softball game for five years. Lum retired last year and began driving the HACC shuttle bus part-time. 

 

Kristi Becker


Kristi Becker played on HACC's women's basketball team in the 2003-2004 and 2005-2006 seasons. She was the ideal student athlete, excelling in the classroom and on the court.

Becker was a high-energy team leader. Her teammates looked up to her. They sought her support on and off the court.

In 2003-2004, Becker received the Defensive Award, EPCC Academic All American and EPCC All-Tournament. In 2005-2006, she received the Leadership Award.

Becker was on HACC's Dean's List and graduated with highest honors in 2007. She earned an Associate's Degree in surgical technology.

She is currently the assistant softball coach at Misericordia Universty. She has helped lead the team to MAC Freedom Conference runner-up in 2010, 2011 East Coast Athletic Conference South Tournament second place finish, and MAC Freedom Champions and NCAA Division III East Regional Tournament participants in 2012.
